Evidence Standards
How we categorize and rate the reliability of our content.
Evidence Tier System
Every claim on CelebEats is assigned an evidence tier based on source reliability:
Direct from the celebrity or their official channels. This includes interviews, social media posts, TV appearances, cookbooks, and official partnerships. Tier A evidence is the most reliable.
Coverage from established media outlets with editorial standards. Includes major publications, industry journals, and verified journalist reports.
User-generated content that has been verified through multiple sources, photo evidence, or restaurant confirmation. Less reliable but still verified.
Confidence Ratings
In addition to evidence tiers, we assign confidence ratings:
- High Confidence: Multiple Tier A sources or strong corroboration across tiers.
- Medium Confidence: Tier B sources with some corroboration, or single Tier A source.
- Low Confidence: Limited evidence, primarily Tier C, or older information that may be outdated.
Reading Evidence Labels
On each celebrity and restaurant page, you'll see evidence badges that indicate:
- The tier of evidence supporting the claim
- The confidence level of our editorial team
- When the information was last verified
